Captura de pantalla del escritorio de Andrés. Lo principal es una foto bucólica de un prado de hierba con árboles al fondo, y una montaña boscosa con unos picos más rocosos más allá en el horizonte. Sólo se ve un dock pequeño en la parte inferior de la pantalla, con Telegram, Archivos, Calendario, Apostrophe (editor de markdown), Tuba (aplicación para Mastodon), Firefox y la tienda de Software. El panel de control arriba muestra la hora y los detalles para controlar wifi, volumen etc, con una ligera transparencia.

Get a libre #gnulinux distro as #guix as your daily driver, better if you choose #xfce or #kde as your desktops, avoid selecting #gnome in the instsaller. Use #9front as the proper Unix/computer science thinkering. If you can run vmx under #9front (modern 64 bit Intel machines), install #guix under it and just use the browser for #Javascript if your goverment chores -taxes nad the like- mandates it. Then purge its configuration.

Stay the f*ck away from #gnome, #wayland and #systemd. #dbus it's s pest too, but at least you can fake machine-id at boot with trivial ease.

@vavakado @lukasrotermund the problem is that they are really bound to #gnome and with #systemd and #flatpak convergence its days are numbered on any non-systemd distro, from #guix to anything else. And Trisquel will just follow Debian->Ubuntus path but deblobbed, so the only #GNU distro free of AI would be #guix as #LLM s output are *never* reproducible.

As a glenda user I feel the same, and maybe a future #guix install once they replace that nonfree-by-default malware called Linux with the actual GNU kernel, Hurd (and FDo crap vendored by #IBM) and being developing a forked xdg-crap alternative to #GNOME/#KDE and the like. Here a jitted Guile+some UI based desktop -GTK4 is doomed- as the original Gnome did with Sawfish (another Lisp based VM) would be great for the user freedom.

As a 9front users I have no issues with either an awk+rc approach (or s9 scheme) + 9p based tools,
Im used to Scheme after all, I can easily pipe stuff
written in s9 into aux/* or gview(1). Having to use some non 9front OS for $GOVERMENT pages is a chore but at least I can control the pests I get in my NUC.
